Indian Wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, Marana, Arizona: Ashley + Mirag

We are excited to share Ashley & Mirag’s elegant and grand wedding we had the pleasure of capturing this past summer in Tucson, Arizona! A Bollywood inspired wedding theme! From pre-wedding events to the wedding day and reception, decoration, food, music everything was unique and beautifully planned. The wedding festivities started with the mehndi ceremony which took place at Ashley’s parents house in Tucson, AZ. It was a beautiful setup with jhula (swing) flowers and candles. Beautiful mehndi design by Purvi Galiya.  Day 2: Sangeet night with a Moroccan theme. It was a fun filled sangeet with lots of singing and dancing to the beat of dhol from the very talented Jupji Sing of Dholi JupmasterG along with the DJ’s of Wicked Entertainment.

Ashley’s dad who owns an airplane hanger for private jets had transformed the space into a gorgeous sangeet venue and the entire setup was breathtaking. The Sangeet in the middle of June, and with the Arizona 100+ degree heat the space had to suitable for guest to be comfortable to enjoy the sangeet night so Ashley’s dad got custom designed air conditioners so it would be a comfortable space for their guest. Everyone had a blast!

Day 3: The wedding day started early morning with getting ready at the resort tucked in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains in Marana, Arizona at the beautiful Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain Resort. We could see the excitement in both Ashely and Mirag’s eyes that they were looking forward to this day for a long time. They both looked stunning and their love for each other was flowing in the air. From walking down the aisle to tying the knot every single step was memorable experience. The beautiful glass manadap was especially designed for their wedding by Deepika Bhalla of US TO YOU RENTALS.

The celebration continued with a grand reception in a beautiful transformed room with silk curtains throughout the banquet hall, gorgeous pink orchids, countless candles, and beautiful lighting. The place looked amazing! DJ’s by Wicked Entertainment kept the dance floor filled with guest with their high energy hindi and bhangra music. Everyone had a great time celebrating Ashley & Mirag’s wedding!

The entire 3 days of wedding events was designed and coordinated by the very talented Suzanne Taussig of Suzanne Taussig Wedding and Event Design!

I asked Ashely and Mirag to briefly describe the journey they both share from when they met to their wedding day. Here is something from them:

Mirag and I met out one night in the fall of 2009. I remember Mirag telling me the silliest jokes all night. I thought to myself “who is this crazy guy”? As corny as his jokes were, something about him stuck and I ended up agreeing to his request for dinner a couple of weeks later. We had a great first date and after dinner ended up walking around D.C. talking for hours. Three years later Mirag and I were walking around the Lincoln Memorial. All of a sudden he got down on one knee and proposed. I was so surprised – I just burst out crying. Since that beautiful fall night four years ago we have shared amazing experiences together. From new jobs to new cities it has been one incredible ride and we are so excited for the next chapter of our lives.
